About Marcel

Marcel is CEO of ECP Growth, leading the firm’s venture and growth equity investments across North America. With over two decades of global experience, he has held operational and strategic roles in the automotive industry, investment banking, private equity, and consumer goods, including serving as CEO of a chocolate manufacturing company.

Prior to joining Emil Capital in 2011, Marcel worked at a multi-billion-dollar distressed private equity firm in New York City and at a strategic and financial advisory firm in Sydney, Australia. He began his career at Daimler AG, serving in key operational roles across the United States, Germany, and South Africa.

Marcel holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Berlin and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He resides in Connecticut with his family and is actively involved in his community.
